Fast food workers protested for a $15 an hour minimum wage and the freedom to unionize. Workers have staged numerous protests this year. During the protests, they came out and chanted slogans about their salaries. The main fast food companies affected are McDonald's and Burger King. They both said they would not press charges and were indeed allowing the workers to return. These workers participating in the strike do not represent the majority of fast food employees. The people participating in the strike are not only young people but also adults and elderly people. Due to the country's low employment rate, many of these workers are supporting families or other dependents. This is where most fast food workers find their motivation to protest this industry. Unfortunately, many Americans question the negative economic effects of the proposed salary and their lack of dignity in receiving such a significant pay increase. However, I believe that with some tweaking and research we can find a way to make everyone happy. My solution advises supporting Obama's proposal for a minimum wage of nine dollars an hour. It will provide financial support to fast food workers, ease the relief burden on taxpayers, and keep inflation in balance. The biggest concern of educated Americans and researchers is that their minimum wage proposal will negatively impact our economy. For example, they predict that their salary is part of the work cycle and that if it increases, prices for customers will increase.
