The employee is also constantly supervised. The second level of ownership of one's own product occurs when the employee becomes responsible for the quality of his or her own production. This level removes so-called redundant systems. With a redundant human system, each person's work is controlled by another person. When this happens, many are responsible for product quality. The third level of employee input is consultative. At this level, employees make recommendations, suggest new ideas, and provide input. The idea behind this level is that employees often have the best knowledge about their jobs, so it makes business sense to get their input. The fourth level of employee contribution is shared/participative/team. At this level, employees have equal voting rights in decision-making. Employees reach consensus with others to make decisions. This level is different from the advisory level because the team's decisions will not always be implemented. At this stage, employees must be well trained and willing to take responsibility for decision-making. The final level of employee contribution is absolute.
