    The discovery of nuclear missiles in Cuba was a great turning point in how the world would progress in terms of communication and various political and entertainment positions from that point on . Before the United States' assumptions that the Soviet Union had nuclear weapons in Cuba were proven, there was a great lack of communications between the nations, which caused a major conflict between these two nations. By the time the nations were connected, many problems could be solved, but until then there was misunderstanding and apprehension of the unknown among many people who called the United States home. The Cuban Missile Crisis marked the beginning of a revolution in communications between nations, but also caused widespread concern among the people of the United States and other neighboring countries. People simply didn't know what to believe when it came to the effects these nuclear weapons were going to have on the nation and the world as a whole. There has been what could be considered a revolution as advances have occurred and new ideas and even caricatures have appeared, all on the universal basis of nuclear weapons. The positives outweigh the negatives on many levels and show that something that seemed so terrible actually brought about many positive changes for the nation. The Cuban Missile Crisis began on October 14, 1962 when U-2 crews took photos over Cuba that were later analyzed. meticulously by experts, who in turn discovered that there were in fact Soviet nuclear weapons in Cuba (Compston, 228). The Soviet Union and the United States were exceptionally close to an all-out nuclear war that could have wiped out the entire human population. Nations would never have been connected by something as necessary as a hotline as early as they were back then. Ultimately, the positives outweighed the negatives to the extent that the only real negative was fear, and that fear was fear of the unknown.
