Essay / Argumentative Essay on Abortion - 1046
Abortion is a vicious form of murder of an innocent, unborn and defenseless child. Women abort babies daily due to unplanned or unwanted pregnancies, rape, and being forced by their parents while they are minors. Abortion became legal in 1973 after the Roe v. Wade case declared it legal. According to Deborah S. Romaine, “the U.S. Constitution protects both expressed or enumerated rights and unexpressed or unenumerated rights.” (1) And the jury in this trial found that abortion was a right for any mother who needed it or wanted to have it. Even today, people argue and debate whether abortion should be legal or not. Abortion is a controversial issue that many consider evil because it results in the death of an innocent person. Killing a child is unethical and completely unfair to the fetus that is the victim. According to Margaret Sykes, in her article "Rape Justifies Abortion," "If a 14-year-old [rape victim]...can't have an abortion without being dragged through the courts...and having people try to stop her at left and right, who can? (Sykes 130) Sykes believed that the 14 year old girl who was raped had every right to abort her child. She believed that abortion should be legal for rape victims, regardless of the stage of their pregnancy. She also didn't think adoption was an alternative to killing babies. Sykes complicates matters further when she explains that foster children don't believe they can raise a child on their own, but also believe that giving to someone they don't know is also a bad idea. Unplanned and unwanted pregnancies are also reasons why women have abortions. According to afterabortion.org, "A study of the medical records of 56,741 California doctors... middle of paper... in the mother's womb." I will praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully created. " (Psalm 139:13). These two verses speak of God creating the baby and caring for it before it is even born. The Bible clearly views the unborn child as a person. Genesis 25:21-22 says: “Rebekah became pregnant. The babies fought together in her womb” (Genesis 25:21-22 says: “When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby jumped in her womb…” (Luke 1:41). ).These two verses clearly view the unborn child as a person; neither verse refers to the unborn child as anything other than a baby. sinner at birth, sinner from the moment my mother conceived me” This means that a child is sin from conception, but how can something that is not yet a person be sin? Abortion violates one of the simplest moral standards: "You must not kill ?."
