    In his "State Floor" speech, broadcast from the White House on September 10, 2014, President Obama makes a statement about the current chaos caused by the terrorist group, Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). President Obama delivers his message to the people of the United States of America by addressing them as “my fellow Americans.” President Barak Obama strives to comfort and persuade the American people that ISIS will soon be eradicated, successfully using the rhetorical strategies of ethos, pathos, and logos. In American prime time; 9:00 p.m. EDT, one day before the 13th anniversary of 9/11, the President of the United States appears upstairs at the White House to let the American people know what he is doing. The president uses various ways to gain the trust of his audience, he shows confidence when he speaks, addresses his previous works; the assassination of one of the most dangerous and feared terrorist leaders, Osama bin Laden, and his underleaders in Somalia and Yemen. By mentioning his previous success in destroying terrorist leaders, he gives his audience a sense of security by letting them know that America can do it again. This gives people watching the speech a sense of security and a sense of America's power over terrorist groups, ultimately letting them know that America will not only stop ISIS, but also courageously destroy it. In the United States (perhaps throughout the world), the American president is considered the most powerful individual in the world. Which means President Obama already has a lot of people, and in this case; many viewers who watched the speech trust and support him. Additionally, in this speech, Mr. President further expands his credibility by being fearless and showing confidence in America, just as the people have confidence in him. He reminds the people of the power that America represents and he assures the people that ISIS will indeed be destroyed. Throughout his speech he cites several incidents in which America successfully invaded ISIS, for example the 150 airstrikes in Iraq. Using his credibility strategies, Obama informs his viewers of the chaos and threats of ISIS
