A fruit seller changed the future of nationsThe poor young man was pulling a fruit cart to sell fruit and provide for his family when the Police caught him and stopped him from selling fruit. When he tried to resist, one of the police officers slapped him in front of around fifty pedestrians. The poor man felt very embarrassed and burst into tears. Later, Mohammad Bouazizi, the fruit seller, decided to set himself on fire out of desperation. Bouazizi ended his life and marked the beginning of those of many others. The Tunisian fruit seller died eighteen days after this accident without knowing that his action had sparked revolutions in his country and in many other Arab countries. After what happened in Tunisia and many other countries, a new term was used to refer to the revolutionary wave and civil wars that took place in the Arab area (the Arab Spring) which began on December 18 2010.
