    We are fortunate to have access to education. There are many opportunities for us to earn a college degree and prepare ourselves for the real world. “Too Many People Go to College” by Charles Muray and “College Prepares People for Life” by Freeman Hrabowski. Both authors believe that education is important and that we should all learn from it. We all need to learn about our history, science, math, and many other areas. These authors also argue that education is for everyone and we should take advantage of it. Although both Muray and Hrabowski address education, Hrabowski provides a more compelling argument through his strong arguments, real-world examples, and experience. Many people think that college is not important. Muray also believes that education is important. He thinks students should learn starting in high school rather than going to college because everyone needs to learn about history and our culture. Every student must learn mathematics, science and philosophy. Hrabowski thinks college is a good place to start. Colleges prepare people for jobs, but, more importantly, for life. Help them find the safest and most effective path to success in life. He stated that “those who claim that education is a waste of time are not seeing the bigger picture” (259). This means that college graduates are more likely to get a better job than those with a high school diploma. Freeman also gives an example of the late Walter Sondheim who reminds us every day of the power of education. Sondheim earned a college degree, then got a job with Kohn & Company in Baltimore. He accomplished many other things with his liberal arts degree. Notably, he became Maryland's civic leader, advised mayors and governors, led the desegregation of the city's schools, and was an active leader for decades.
