Essay / Do video games teach us or help us in any way? - 776
Gaming is a recent problem that society has become aware of and is interested in recently. But the question is: do video games really help us or not and what do they teach us? This is what I will discuss throughout my speech today by addressing both sides of the argument and finally concluding with the answer to this frequently asked question. One of the many things that video games help teach a person is goal setting. We all know what it is and how important it is to being successful and organized when so much is going on in our lives. Video games subconsciously teach this essential skill while you have fun playing. Setting goals is an essential process for long-term success. The reason is that you can't get to where you're trying to go until you clearly define where and what it is. Research shows a direct link between goals and business success. They help you focus and allocate your time efficiently so that you can avoid devoting your life to time-wasting activities. Video games can be a lot of fun and very educational, but if you become addicted, the effect can be quite the opposite. If you play excessively, the only thing the game will do for you is waste your time. When playing fun games, a timer or something similar should be activated to prevent you from wasting all your time on a game where your high score will not benefit you in any way in life. Playing video games can be very beneficial, but if you become addicted, you will only be wasting your time. If you don't waste your time and play in small intervals, then something you will learn from the game is better decision making. By playing video games, you actually become better at making decisions middle of paper. ....push the dendrites apart through the game, then the more you play, the smarter you are. This information comes from John Joseph who visited our school two weeks ago with Focus Education. In conclusion I believe the answer to this question of whether gaming is a hindrance or a help depends on how much you play, if you play too much it is a hindrance but if you play in reasonable doses it would be helpful . I know this from the research carried out but also from my personal experience as a player. Gaming has an impact on me when I play in small doses, I get rewarded and I'm happy, but if I play too long I start to become antisocial. There is a fine line between helpful play and hindering play and if you find yourself on the wrong side of the line you need to try as hard as possible to get out of that zone or you could be damaged for the rest of your life..”
