Therefore, I dove into the water and swam hard. Underwater you can't hear very well, but when I swam that lap the whole place was cheering me on to finish my race. This feeling made me want to swim harder, faster. I had to go from wanting to stop swimming to wanting to improve. I've had many other moments, like my first swim meet, but none have been as rewarding. My new reward was achieving a new goal. My first goal was to stop coming in last place, to stop being disqualified. It took a lot of training and a few swim meets to reach my goal. In order to no longer be disqualified, I switched from backstroke to breaststroke. I had a little more trouble with the breaststroke, but I enjoyed it better. At first I was disqualified for incorrect form, then after hours and hours of practice I had mastered the technique. I still wasn't very fast in any of my events, so that was my next thing to work on: speed. I started pushing myself harder, learning different ways to improve my speed and form. Once I had everything in place, my times improved. I even finished second and third in some
