  • Essay / The Importance of a Personally Meaningful Education

    Most of my teachers practiced personally meaningful education, because they talked about things I thought were interesting, they came to support me during my games, and they were honest with Me. I felt safe in their class and I didn't need to be afraid or embarrassed to be who I was. Since I am a kinesthetic learner, they found a way to contact me. In classes like physical education and math it was easier for them because they would just make me show if I knew how to do it or not, however for classes like history they would sometimes make us play a role or make presentations. In all of my classes, I was allowed to use a stress ball to keep my hands occupied and my brain stimulated, and the teachers all agreed with that. Also, we were doing some sort of current event in my classes, and it was fun because it was something recent and interesting because we were going to choose it. I can highly attest to the fact that teachers who practice personally meaningful education will see their students perform better in the classroom, be more involved in extracurricular activities, and have more self-confidence than teachers who do not. It is clear that a personally meaningful education plays a key role in student success, because it all depends on whether or not
