The computer age is here to stay. Good or bad, it cannot be reversed. We must face the dangers this poses for society. One aspect of the technological age is the impact of computers and the Internet on our children. Computers enhance and harm their education. How can society protect its children from the information superhighway? Computers are tools that help students learn. They are necessary for the evolution of educational learning. There are dilemmas associated with the use of computers and the Internet in classrooms. Children and youth are becoming more vulnerable to dangerous websites and predators. Social media is a new era and threatens our children's confidence. When children use computers at school, they do not always use them correctly; they are therefore susceptible to many threats. Some educators argue that we already have the necessary tools our children need to learn. Certify that computers are not necessary to accomplish the tasks faced by students. Students are provided with up-to-date textbooks and well-trained teachers to help them develop. Past generations did not have computers for learning. Society continues to regress. We strive for progress for the sake of progress, but we never give the whole picture. What harm will we cause in the lives of our children and future generations? At home, our children face more threats from new age technology. Vast social networking capabilities are within our reach. We live in a world of tablets, smartphones and wireless internet capabilities. Social networking sites have been used for bullying, taunting, and predators. Young people today are not safe from each other online. These sites can make teens feel isolated and have led to suicides among some teens. When the first printing press was invented, it revolutionized the educational process by enabling the mass production of books. The education system had to be restructured, moving from a master-apprentice relationship to a master-student method. When the Industrial Revolution began, the massive populations of cities were quickly concentrated. The education system had to be overhauled, moving from a group of children studying in a single school to an individualized system of teacher specialization. Today, with the advent of the computer age, the learning process needs to be redefined. Yes, it's not perfect, but nothing new ever is. It takes time for people to learn and adapt to unforeseen dilemmas. Contrary to Jerry Mander's belief, not everything can be predicted but again, this is a whole new topic.
