Did this modern point of view after the Black Death benefit men and women equally? Why or why not? The Renaissance was a reaction to the consequences of the plague, due to the high mortality rate, economic collapse and abandoned lands. This created an opportunity for reform regarding art and religious culture and how money was distributed among those who survived. For example, I believe that the quality of life of both men was not beneficial to the men and women who were equally affected by the plague and its consequences. There was a dissolution of the marriage due to illness. Life was seen from a different perspective, which allowed people to ignore what the Church thought about family and
