Throughout their academic life, students will be asked to participate in prestigious exams, or as they are more commonly known as standardized exams. Do these exams actually measure a student's academic abilities or do they just measure their progress? Although these exams cannot measure a student's intelligence, they can show their progress in the subjects they are tested on. Therefore, when students are informed that these exams will be used to see their progress, they will not feel discouraged. take the exams. So, instead of feeling stressed or discouraged, they will be motivated to pass their exams, since their goal is to see progress in themselves. Teachers want to see progress in their students, but students fear that making mistakes on this exam will hinder their academic progress, because if a student gets a low score in one of the subjects, they must take a remedial course and most students will. not like this idea. Without mistakes, how are teachers supposed to help their students? Small errors are good on a standardized test, because errors "give teachers guidance to help them determine what to teach students and when to teach it" (Columbia University, The Pros and Cons of Standardized Tests ), where teachers will create ways to help students understand the subject and encourage further student progress.
