Essay / Cone Effect - 894
First of all, my definition of the “cone effect” is: a theory in which all media content is exaggerated and then sent via a publication or show that broadcasts advertisements to individuals with different perceptions leading to a “perceived media reality” that is integrated into daily life. I believe that means we are media, the media is us, and we are one. If we all looked at our lives, we are just a jumble of representations. For me, from our birth until our death, we are media. We are born of a certain gender, boy or girl. It represents something. Boys wear blue, girls wear pink. It symbolizes for everyone what we are. We don't know we are boys or girls until someone tells us. We have set and defined expectations for our lives, as well as the ways in which we should act. From this day forward, we learn our media from our lives, from our families, from our friends, and literally from everything we come in contact with. Everything we do and everything we see leaves a trace of impression on us and means something to each of us. This is why I think the media is us. Media is everything. We are only representations. It makes me very frustrated to think about it seriously. It makes me question everything I had to believe as a member of society. It makes me question countless things in my life. It made me think about life in general. What is reality? I honestly don't know if there is a way to answer this question for everyone, but I think we all need to look at our lives in general and the daily lives we live in and question them. Everything we do or say has a representation. again, it's the media. It's all around us. It's everywhere. In most places we don't even know what's going on. As I inspected my life and the media around me, I found that media is almost everywhere. It's everywhere. Almost everything I have and use has labels on it, from clothes to food. Some things even have advertisements for other things on their labels. All these products represent me. I wear these clothes because I like the look of that brand or because I want to belong to a certain group, so I wear similar clothes. I eat certain foods because someone introduced me to them or it's the brand I like.
