    Many people have always been undecided about the career they want to pursue. As they get older and consider the many career choices, they realize that a career in the medical field is the best choice. Being a nurse interests many people because it requires the study of the human body and many other great opportunities that nurses have in this career. Once the career of nurses was researched, there was too much emphasis on the fact that there are different types of nurses. The desire to help and care for those in need is the attitude needed to become a nurse. The history, requirements, position and thinking of nursing are what attract the most attention in nursing. Although nursing has not always been considered a profession, it has been known in the United States for many centuries. In the 1900s, women did not have medical training, but men still relied on them to care for the sick or injured. With the organization of the Nurses Associated Alumnae of the United States, the history of nursing began. It became clear to people throughout the United States that preparation was necessary to protect the sick, wounded, and sick from unqualified nurses, who had no well-known knowledge of providing proper care to the injured. In the early 1900s, almost all of the United States passed a nurse licensure law. Training hours became shorter and qualifications were strictly mandated for attending nursing schools. During the Great Depression, educated nurses fell on hard times. The Works Progress Administration used most of the nurses. The Civil Works Administration employed others to help ameliorate the depression.
