(Francis Bacon Sr.) Even though beauty pageants for toddlers are held for political, educational, and entertainment events, the pageants should be banned in the United States until they reach the age of sixteen years old because young children are victims of bullying and a study shows that children who being active at this age can lead to depression and uncontrollable behavior. Seeing little girls strutting around in tight clothes, high heels and fake tans is just disgusting. People should be ashamed of putting a child through this. I even hate seeing teenagers covering their faces with makeup. Any type of pageant, except for any natural beauty, is just plain wrong. Toddler beauty pageants are an opportunity for little girls of all ages under sixteen to go out in public, dress like dolls, and cover their faces in unhealthy makeup. Competitions not only affect your emotions, but also your body image. If you want people to see you for who you really are, don't wear clothes that make you look like someone else. You risk your image on how people see you. For example, if you've ever walked into a store, you might be unrecognizable because people are used to seeing you with makeup. Body image is supposed to be about how your own body looks, not how others want you to look. But some people say the opposite about this. Across the United States, mother, father, or both parents enter their children in toddler competitions. Competitions provide beneficial programs and scholarships to those receiving assistance.
