    Police brutality. In addition to standing up to police brutality, Mookie also did the right thing due to Sal's racism towards Mookie and his clients. Additionally, Mookie did the right thing because of Sal's racism towards his customers. He is racist towards everyone except Jane, Mookie's sister who Sal is interested in. The only reason Sal is in the ghetto is because he makes a lot of money in that area. Sal only tolerates his customers because he knows that if he does something wrong, then he could lose all his customers. One situation where Sal is racist towards his client is when Buggin Out asks Sal why he doesn't have brothers on the wall, so Sal tells him that if he wants brothers on the wall then he can have his own place. Buggin Out asks, "Yo Mookie, why aren't there any brothers on the wall?" Mookie says, "I don't know, ask Sal." Then Sal said, “You want the brothers on the wall to have their own place. Do what you want to do... but it's my pizza place. Italian Americans on my wall only. Buggin Out fires back and says, "Well, that's up to you and I rarely see Italian Americans eating here." All I see are black people, and since we spend a lot of money here, I have a say. Sal has had enough at this point and asks Buggin Out
