  • Essay / Energy and environment - 1014

Imagine a life without lights, without televisions, without computers, without trains, without washing machines, without refrigerators and without microwaves. Imagine a planet so polluted that the smog is so intense in the air that you can't see very far, the lakes and streams are poisoned, and the land is so badly scarred by people trying to find more sources of energy. This may become a reality in the near future due to the abuse of our energy resources. This reveals that energy is most important in our lives, just as the planet we live on is important, a planet that generates both the energy needed to meet our demands and our energy use. As we can see, there is a relationship between the production of electricity which is a type of our energy and environmental pollution. In fact, the environmental crisis could be resolved by considering two important aspects, the environmental crisis occurred due to carbon dioxide emissions, caused by the electricity production processes in order to meet the increase in demand. The two important aspects are therefore: avoiding abuse of energy consumption and obtaining environmentally friendly electricity production. This essay focuses on the second aspect in order to offer some solutions to this problem. There are two types of resources used to generate electricity, non-renewable energy resources and renewable energy resources. Non-renewable energy resources or known as fossil fuels such as wood, oil, gas and coal can be defined as solid, liquid or gaseous fuels formed in the ground after millions of years by changes chemical and physical effects of plants and animal residues under high temperatures. and pressure. According to Franchi (2005:72) “renewable energy is energy obtained from sources at a rate less than or equal to the rate at which the source is...... middle of paper..... .t demand for electricity as non-renewable. It could also be more environmentally friendly. Wind power, because it can be seen that wind power could reduce the danger and be more reliable.
