    Another suicide, because he didn't know where to run; another teenage pregnancy, because she needed the acceptance of just one more person. Another alcoholic, another drug addict, another tyrant, more abuse: where will we draw the line? When will it become too much? Although some school systems have legitimate reasons why mandatory counseling is not crucial, recent studies reveal that it is very important. This would deepen education and relationships and would benefit students and faculty across the country. This required time could potentially improve GPA and test scores across the country. Overall, many believe that mandatory counseling for high school adolescents would be beneficial, if not essential. If mandatory counseling programs were implemented in every high school in America, the standards and quality of life for most people would increase dramatically. There are countless reasons why this should be implemented in every school in America. State assessment scores, GPA, and even course grades were found to be significantly increased (Boyle, J.S. and Kehoe, J. J). In one study in Illinois, suicide rates dropped by almost half after mandatory counseling took effect (Chamberlain, 2003). Rates of bullying, violence, and depression have also been reported in all states that have already implemented mandatory counseling (Roaten, GK & Roaten, DJ, 2012). Graduation and continuing education rates have also increased significantly at these schools (Roaten, GK & Roaten, DJ, 2012). A higher level of self-efficacy was also reported.
