    Erikson's theory is a psychoanalytic theory that identifies eight stages through which a healthy developed person should move from infancy to adulthood adult. Each stage requires a person to face and master new challenges. The nursing process requires that an interactive and trusting relationship exist between the nurse and client. Modeling and remodeling theory states that a pathway must be followed when caring for the patient. The nurse must first establish a positive and trusting relationship with the patient. Second, the nurse should allow the patient to control and promote those strengths with which the patient feels most comfortable.
