KQ: A model is a simplified representation of certain aspects of the world. How can models help or hinder the search for knowledge? The quest for absolute truth and knowledge is a never-ending and tedious process in which we seek to confirm the answers to the questions, assertions, problems, aspects of life and theories that are visible in our society. Using models as learning tools is rudimentary and greatly helpful in understanding and answering questions. Models are fundamental in our search for knowledge because they simplify ideas so that they are easily interpreted by masses of populations. Being simply a representation, models are generally simpler than the concept or idea itself, which leads to the model hindering us in our search for knowledge. Models give us the ability to understand and make valid assessments for real-world situations, both in the social and natural sciences, but they all present their obstacles to knowledge claims. Models are believed to be used effectively in the natural sciences to visually display concepts and information in the form of illustrations, graphs, and diagrams. In natural science, when we develop a theory, to study the validity of a theory, we create models and designs that are tested in an experiment. This experiment is based on models and designs that can be recreated to give the same results and explain the experiment and theory in relation to the model. However, in some cases, templates may be of minimal help. In addition to this use of models, the natural sciences also use models to illustrate observations. When looking through a microscope, one would have to model the cell or any other microscopic being, but it is impossible, and illogical, to grasp the middle of a paper ......se and the validity of models, leading to obstacles in the acquisition of knowledge. Consider a map, they are not at full scale to represent the three-dimensional world around us, which has multiple elevation levels and cannot be perfectly modeled as a map. We will never be able to observe a microscope with the naked eye, but the infinitely evolving models of atoms allow us to understand them better. Models will never be totally perfect, but they will give us the opportunity to think about and understand a concept and make valid judgments based on a given situation. Will we ever be able to establish precisely what knowledge is? No, but using models will give us a fairly realistic understanding of what is actually happening. Overall, using models as learning tools helps us a lot, but their functions and applications will always have obstacles..
