I remember hearing about it briefly in a child development class I took years ago. I didn't remember the results of these steps (hope, will, goal...etc). I loved comparing biblical views to these theories of development. I look back and think about the times I was disappointed as a child, so sometimes I was hopeless and without real purpose and as soon as I let God into my life, He 'gave these things. It was reassuring to look back and see how God can provide for us when the world fails us.
