  • Essay / Analysis of the Other Wes Moore - 1062

I thought that the influence of author Wes's parents on him was the absolute key to his success. As I said earlier, Wes was on the wrong path as a child. He started taking drugs and it also affected his studies. Before things got out of hand, Wes's family forced him to go to military school and improve his life. Although Wes tried to escape and quit several times, his family continued to push and motivate him. We also got to see how the other Wes Moore lacked motivation from his family. His family did not push him or keep him on the path of writing. I think it is very important for a child's parents to keep their child on the right path. It is the combination of parental influence and the ability to make the right choices for oneself. In the story, it was amazing to see how their lives started so similar, but ultimately to investigate the factors that led them to two different situations.
