1.0 IntroductionHuman beings are very complex creatures and are becoming even more complicated these days. The needs and requirements of man in modern society are also constantly changing and increasing. When these needs are not met, people become dissatisfied. In such a situation, dissatisfaction is unlikely to contribute to constructive goals. This is why motivation is one of the most studied topics in organizational psychology (Spector, 1997). Every organization has a motivation structure designed to achieve particular goals. Generally, their goal is to motivate and improve performance. Incentive structures are formal policies and procedures written by the organization. They dictate how a business is formally organized and organized. The motivation can be either financial in the form of a bonus. These could also be promotions, holiday trips or vouchers. These programs have distinct criteria which are reward based on employee performance; it must be competitive and proportional to market prices and, finally, it must motivate employees to perform better. (Armstrong M. & Murlis, H., 2007) Motivation is the pleasant emotional state that accompanies the result (reward) of work (Locke 1976). Employers are considered the backbone of the organization. This gives them the responsibility of creating pleasant working conditions to stimulate employee motivation. It is generally accepted that employees in all industries are motivated by salaries. It is not uncommon to see organizations raise salaries to recruit and retain key employees in the business world. (Beer, M. This involves the collection of data which will be primary and secondary. The validity and reliability of the data will also be highlighted. Chapter four discusses the incentive programs implemented by different banks and how employees of different organizations value these programs. This chapter analyzes these results. Primary and secondary sources of information and their analysis will be presented. This shows the justification and cases of contradiction of some theories discussed in the literature review presented in chapter two. The final section of the research, chapter five concludes and also offers recommendations made by the researcher.
