As has been noted, Kee, being the only pregnant woman in the world, is the cure. She gave hope to the world. Scientists may have been able to use it to find a solution to human infertility. So in the film, Theo has to keep her safe and make sure she gets to the sea safely with her baby. In the film, Kee is the cure for planet Earth. If they don't protect her and her baby, the world loses hope again and they return to their current state. This connects to society because in real life, Kee is the environment. If we do not protect the environment, it will disappear quickly. People don't care about the environment these days. The ground is full of waste and garbage and the air is very polluted every day. Additionally, no one pays attention to green bins and recycling bins, which slowly damages the earth. No one realizes that we need to take care of the environment for future generations. Hope is in future generations. Without it, life is pointless and everyone will act the same way, just like in the movie. The film uses Kee to show us that when we realize something is too late (taking care of the environment), everyone will panic, be afraid and react violently in the same way as the film.
