Evolution Research PaperAhmad Kawji3/14/14Table of ContentsThe term evolution is often identified as "the change in the gene pool of a population from generation through processes such as mutation, natural selection and genetic drift. (dictionary.com) Evolution itself is a very deep concept with several different viewpoints ranging from people who completely believe in the concept and people who totally reject it. To understand evolution in its entirety, scientists must trace the idea back to Charles Darwin. Charles Darwin was famous for his voyage aboard the HMS Beagle, during which he visited several different geographical locations. By navigating around these different environmental sites, he collected detailed information on the organisms and acquired several real species himself. After collecting endless amounts of data, he began to notice certain trends among these organisms. Some shared behaviors, others shared physical traits, and still others belonged to the same species but lived in different locations. He tried to explain this biological variety and quickly theorized that ALL organisms on earth had evolved from earlier ancestors. He noted three distinctive key patterns that indicated his theory was true. He said that “species vary locally, globally and over time” (Miller, K., Levine, J., 2010, 451-453). This is not the only evidence that supports evolution, many other natural facts point to its truth. In theory, the process of organisms evolving from one ancestor into many different forms takes MILLIONS of years. Current machines and methods, such as in radiometric dating in which a measurement of stable isotopes determines the age of the rock very precisely (Miller, K., ...... middle of paper ...... of something of infinite mass, (This is mind-boggling), Quite quickly, it expanded drastically (hence the "Big Bang"), the Universe would then have adopted a model of heat and rapid expansion, then cooling and standardization. This would have occurred up to the current size and temperature of the current Universe. What is the evidence for this theory? In the mid-1960s, scientists discovered radiation. extremely hot emitted throughout the universe which could be a remnant of the intense heat under which the Universe was born (big-bang-theory.com) Although the Big Bang theory does not provide a precise date or d). he perfect time at which the Universe began is the most accepted theory and since the Universe follows the same expansion path as it experienced in the Big Bang theory, scientists conclude. this must be correct. Who are the creationists?
