  • Essay / The Holy Bible and Jesus Christ - 901

The Holy Bible is a collection of scriptures provided to us by our Father Jesus Christ. The Bible is the most important book in history since these scriptures provide knowledge, corrections and guides so that the man of God is well equipped for every good work. The Bible can be found in several different versions and translations that suit a wide range of readers. This incredible collection of religious writings begins with the Old Testament followed by the Prophets and ends with a collection of writings. The first five books of the Bible, better known as the Old Testament, best describe the history of Israel from the creation of the world until the death of Moses. The Old Testament describes a special relationship between God and His chosen people and there is a strong emphasis on the laws that must be followed and obeyed by all of God's children. The Old Testament also speaks of the Babylonian exile, which is the disaster that God created to destroy all creation on earth caused by the loss of faith of his people. In these first five books we can appreciate the scriptures of Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. In Exodus we have a very detailed explanation of the leadership of King Moses. Moses was a very powerful leader of the Hebrews, born in Egypt, but later led the Hebrew people out of Egypt. Moses was born during a very difficult time when the Paraoah of Egypt ordered that all baby boys be drowned at birth. This order was given because the Paraoah was afraid that these baby boys would become too powerful in the future. The birth of Moses is the beginning of an incredible story told to us through the writing of Exodus. At the time of Moses' birth he had to be hidden for a period of three...... middle of paper ...... was really close to the promised land but he was not allowed there enter. Moses is my favorite character in the Bible because he was used many times by God and is a great guide and witness of God to us all. In Exodus we learn how powerful God is and how important it is to follow every law of God. This story makes us understand how important it is to always worship God and never take credit from Him, because everything we do, we do in the name of God. While Moses was faithful to God for 99 percent of his life, one sin was enough to bar him from entering the promised land. We must make sure we understand that God chooses the weakest people to perform miracles through them. The story of Moses gives us enough faith and courage to follow God's law every day and understand that if we sin, we must always regret it and ask God for forgiveness..
