Essay / The theory of alienation has been proven wrong: people are more...
The term alienation is a phenomenon when people feel isolated. This could be due to the environment they live in or other factors. Most people think that there is a tendency towards alienation when living in their community, but in most cases it is the opposite: people can still be alienated even more than a stranger in their own community. According to the Karl Marx Manuscripts of 1844, alienation is defined as: the separation of things that naturally belong together, or the setting into antagonism of things that are properly in harmony. In its most prominent use, the concept refers to the social alienation of people from certain aspects of their "human nature" (Gattungswesen, usually translated as "species-essence" or "species-being"). He believed that alienation is a systematic result of capitalism. This definition of alienation is based on his observation of the work process. Karl Marx believes that workers are alienated in the labor process because they have no control over their lives and destiny and are deprived of control over their actions. Workers never become independent because their employer tells them what to do. Alienation is broadly defined by the Encyclopedia Britannica as: the state of feeling alienated or separated from one's environment, from one's work, from the products of one's work or from oneself. Despite its popularity in the analysis of contemporary life, the idea of alienation remains an ambiguous concept with elusive meanings, the following variants being the most common: (1) helplessness, the feeling that one's destiny is not under its own control but is determined by external forces. agents, fate, chance or institutional arrangements, (2) meaninglessness, referring either to lack of comprehensibility or coherence...... middle of article......
