Have you ever watched a film and later found yourself daydreaming about the lives of the actors? Have you ever finished a movie and found yourself imitating the way the heroine talks, carries herself, or walks? Do you ever stop to wonder how much your opinions and attitude have been influenced by the media and what you are constantly exposed to? The media has a huge influence on the lives of men, women and adolescents. Today, individuals are affected by the way people dress, speak, behave and think while trying to become another version of themselves. The media not only has a positive effect on us, but it can also impact us negatively. Nowadays, media are widespread in society in different forms (television, books, films, Internet, etc.) and their effects on individuals are mainly manifested in the physical and verbal aggression of young people through violent behavior and emotional. This is a result of the currently presented means of entertainment. People now constantly watch TV series and music videos and later start taking actors, singers and even TV presenters as models and dressing like them in an attempt to stand out and be fashionable . Not only do they dress like their models, but they blindly believe their opinions, even if they are biased and incorrect. The media currently makes our decisions for us, like deciding our own personal preferences. The media greatly affects adolescents because it displays an abundance of violence, inappropriate scenes as well as unhealthy living conditions, making adolescents believe that such behavior is acceptable in our society. Mass media has become a major negative influence in society, especially on the attitude, beliefs and values of the younger generation. Nowadays, the first thing that... middle of paper ... ...is the use of drugs and alcohol and the adoption of violent behavior. Mass media has a huge impact and role in shaping the opinions and positions of everyone, especially the younger generation. The media has taken over our lives as we try to dress, act, behave, and even formulate our opinions based on the celebrities we like. Mass media has a lot of harmful influence, such as young people blindly imitating their role models even trying to be like them, which causes many adolescents today to suffer from eating disorders. Another huge effect of the media is to have no certain opinion about what is really happening, because you believe everything you hear and are not sure if that is what is really happening. I believe people need to be vigilant to minimize these negative influences by being responsible to themselves and others, especially young people who are easy targets for the media..
