I reside in Keti Mir Mohammad Ghumro village of Taluka Kingri in Khairpur district, currently living in Karachi with my immediate family. Back in the village, my 84-year-old father lives with the widows of his two deceased sons, his grandchildren and his three sons, two of whom are married. I am working here in Karachi with one of the largest private sector power generation companies in the country in a senior position. My children study in Karachi at university, college and school levels. Brief History of the Village Our village Keti Mir Mohammad Ghumro is located about 8 km north of Pir Jo Goth in the Kutcha region on the left bank of the Indus River and is inhabited mainly by us, the Ghumros. for centuries. Our main source of income is agriculture. The village although has a small population, it is scattered over an area of approximately 3 km². The village is unique in that it has a primary school which is over 100 years old which caters not only to the villagers but also to students from the local villages. Since then, as the head of the village family, we have encouraged the education of village children, contrary to the stereotype that village heads rather discourage village children from getting education. We have had doctors, engineers, professors, lawyers and geniuses in other professional fields in the past through this primary school which today continues to build a strong base of students for higher education. Our village and the Ghumros are known for their love of peace and law-abiding nature. Never in the history of this village has there been a crime and never has any member of the Ghumro family taken sides or supported the crime. The village is today going through the worst period in its history and we look at me...... middle of paper ...... my village every quarter but this quarter I am forced to stay behind hoping for the situation that would improve but my hopes are rather fading. Your Honor, this is the time when my elderly father and other members of my family need me the most in this time of suffering. SOSWe, as the very less privileged, unlike the powerful Syed Rashid Shah, have no recourse but to knock on the doors of justice, but even we are forced to refrain from doing so because we know that it would attract more anger. Therefore, considering that this is the only solution, I have chosen to write to Your Honor to kindly respond to our SOS and come to our rescue as soon as possible, otherwise Syed Rashid Shah Rashdi, in connivance with the local police, would have all our people arrested, thus creating an opportunity for him to seize our land and finally force us to leave our village where we have lived for centuries.
