The role of the ghost in Hamlet and its resolution on the dramatic workThe ghost of the previous Danish king in Hamlet is a powerful element which provokes the variety of Prince Hamlet reactions to the world around him and to the unexpected killer, King Claudius. Furthermore, the Ghost is the tool of knowledge that illuminates Hamlet's heart with the love of insisting to seek the credibility of the crime. The father of Hamlet's Ghost played a crucial role in the play, particularly on Hamlet, by telling him the truth about his death and ordering him to take revenge on the killer. The Ghost's role and command in Hamlet caused Hamlet to become hesitant and skeptical about Ghost's credibility. This causes Hamlet to choose between the consequences of life or death on Hamlet himself. Later, this leads him to take revenge on Claudius without fear of fate. The role of the ghost in Hamlet and his command towards his son: The ghost signifies a bad omen for the stability of Denmark as he shows the flashback of the crime to Hamlet. In Act I, Scene IV, Hamlet, Horatio, and Marcellus see the appearance of the ghost, which makes them fear that the ghost foreshadows something wrong in the state, especially after the death of Hamlet's father. Marcellus tells Hamlet and Horatio that: "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark", he means that there is a bad omen for Denmark. Additionally, the Ghost's appearance with a metal cloth soldier completely resembles Hamlet's father and tells them nothing, causes them to fear him by questioning him about his identity and following his mind to know the reason for his appearance before them, which resembled the ancient Danish king.
