Humans have all kinds of traits, good and bad. But sometimes these characteristics can doom the world. Stephen King's Doctor Sleep is the story of a psychic man and girl battling a tribe of immortal beings, living off the vapor given off by telepathic children. By examining the novel Doctor Sleep by Stephen King, one can see that anger, withdrawal, and selfishness are human traits that will doom society. These traits illustrate a destructive element of humanity in the society of the story. We can see by looking at anger that it is a trait that will cause humans to do a lot of harm to society. Anger is seen as a deep, powerful anger that leads to revenge, which Rose the Hat exhibits perfectly. This trait can be seen when Dan has Abra call and provoke Rose in order to distract her from their plan to destroy the True Knot.
