In the beginning, God came down to the dust of the earth, formed man, and breathed life into him. Man's task was to rule and subdue creation as God's representative, but he was not to do it alone. So the Lord fashioned a woman from the side of the man while he slept. Man and woman, created in the image of their Creator, were called to bear fruit and multiply for their joy and the glory of their God (Should Christians Use Contraceptive Methods and Technologies reproduction?).
