  • Essay / The Theory of Special Relativity by Albert Einstein

The theory of special relativity is a recognized physical theory that has revolutionized progress in the relationship between space and time. The theory is one of the most interesting discoveries still used today in science fiction films such as Star Wars and Star Trek through the use of black holes and time travel due to its astonishing results and its appearance at speeds close to light speed, which can appeal to a wide range of audiences. It was the fruit of six years of extremely manual work by Albert Einstein. Einstein used resources that were widely available to the public due to his economic constraints. It was not until 1905 that Einstein finally completed and published his findings, as well as the collections of other scientists' earlier findings regarding the special theory of relativity. It was not until the 19th century that Albert's discoveries were subjected to a reliable experiment by Maxwell, thus adding to the legitimacy of Einstein's discoveries. The theory of special relativity is still used today in modern technological devices such as GPS, as well as in submicroscopic particle interactions, the movement of stars and galaxies, and cosmology. The theory of special relativity is the first postulate of main relativity, also known as the Galilean principle of relativity, it states that no physical measurement can distinguish one inertial system from another, meaning that the laws of physics apply in all situations, at any time and in any place. The second postulate of the theory of special relativity states that the speed of light in a vacuum is the same in all inertial frames, regardless of the motion of the source. This means that the speed of light is essentially the same in a vacuum under all conditions...... middle of paper...... basically the decrease in length observed by a person from a frame stationary reference on the object which is in motion, and the higher the speed relative to the observer, the shorter the length of the observed object. L = L0((1 - v2/c2))1/2where: L = the length measured by the "other" observer L0 = the length measured by the observers on the reference frame v = the speed of the object c = the speed of light in a vacuumL = 6.5 mv = 0.55cL0 = ?6.5 = L0×(1-.55c2/c2)6.5 = L0×(0.45)L0 = 5.5/(0 .45) = 12.2 mAs To conclude, the theory of special relativity is one of the breakthroughs and can be considered as the masterpiece of Einstein's work. Its principles are the basis of technological devices still used today, such as GPS. It is based on two basic principles that contribute to deeper conclusions regarding time dilation, length contraction and mass increase..
