The three-year-old couldn't read yet, so she kept asking her seven-year-old brother, "Is this our school yet?" “Not yet,” he replied. As the school closings slowly scrolled across the bottom of the screen, both children began to bounce around more and more impatiently. Finally, with a cry of joy, the two children shouted: “Snow day! » All kids love snow days because no matter what the temperature is outside, there's always fun to be had. The kids asked mom what the temperature was outside as they bounced around in excitement. Mom said, “It’s cold and windy, so bundle up!” » Bundle up, they did it! Each child must have worn at least three pairs of pants and three shirts. On top of that, they each put on as many pairs of socks as their little boots could hold. After dressing up like it was an Antarctic expedition, the family headed into the great outdoors. As the front door opened, they were all hit by a blast of freezing air and blinded by a sea of pure white snow. The children grew more and more excited as they walked on the sidewalk, filled with freshly fallen snow. Each child would stop and pick up a snowball to throw to mom every so often as they headed to the perfect place to build a snowman. Perched high on the hill in the front yard was the chosen location for the children's winter time creation. The children wanted to build a snowman that other snowmen would envy. With their cheeks already a rosy red color, they set to work obtaining all the pieces needed to build a snowman. Mom... middle of paper... as always, something the kids would look forward to. Warm and creamy, made with milk not water, and a piece of chocolate at the bottom of the cup made this hot chocolate the best. Add some fluffy white marshmallows and a candy cane spoon and the kids were in hot chocolate heaven. Each sip seemed to warm the children from the inside out. Sitting by the fireplace under a warm, heavy blanket, the children and their mother slowly defrosted. The long day outside had been a freezing and fun day. The kids built the best snowman in the world, or so they thought. They were able to roll down a huge hill pretending to be racing cars. The children were also able to participate in a snowball fight with their mother. To top off the day, the children were able to drink homemade hot chocolate by the fire with mom. Who would have thought you could have so much fun on such a cold day?
