Abortion is a controversial subject because those who are strongly opposed to abortion will try to convince women to change their minds. In the article “My Abortion,” by Meaghan Winter explains that some clinics were closed to stop the abortion process. She states, “But despite all the regulations and protests, despite all the 'safe, legal, and rare' and 'abortion is murder' regulations, abortion is part of our daily experience” (Winter 1). The abortion argument has been going on for 5 decades, but remains the most controversial topic. Across the United States, anti-abortion protesters stand outside clinics and trained counselors attempt to engage with pregnant women. He says: "Most of the time they argue that they can help with alternatives to abortion, counselors are ignored, but some women stop, listen and change their minds" (life.org.nz ). Abortion rights supporters attempt to prevent protesters from engaging with them, thereby blocking access between the client and counselors. The main controversy surrounding abortion is the "body's right" argument; a person who does not want to have a child, for whatever reason, can abort it. This may be true, but any rights she has must be measured against the existence of the fetus. Abortion not only affects the person themselves, but also the doctor who performs the abortion, men, society and the economy. Doctors and clinic staff are also affected by abortion procedures. Almost all professionals reacted more or less negatively to the effects.
