Essay / Secret Window
Imagine exploring your newly purchased cabin that is hidden next to a sparkling blue lake in the pine mountains. In the attic, you come across an old wooden chest of drawers with six drawers. This seems to be hiding something. You slowly push the heavy chest of drawers to see what’s hidden behind it; look, it's a window. A “secret window”. This exciting and suspenseful film keeps you on the edge of your seat all the time. Say no to plagiarism. Get a tailor-made essay on “Why Violent Video Games Should Not Be Banned”? Johnny Depp has once again outdone himself with another exceptional performance as his character Morton Rainey, the famous detective novelist. I love movies with twists and turns and this movie has an exceptional twist. You will start by feeling sorry for Mort because of the devastating reason for his divorce from Amy, who was cheating on him. I thought he was like any other author who sometimes has writer's block and talks out loud to himself. He had every right to prove to John Shooter that he hadn't plagiarized his story. Nobody wants to be accused of this. I kept feeling bad for Mort because every time he had the chance to try and prove it, something bad would go wrong. The shooter burns his house and tears the pages of the magazine. I kept asking myself: what else could go wrong? Then his innocent dog and two people are murdered. Morton has to clean it up because Shooter made it look like he did. He goes to the police and hires a private investigator, but nothing is done and Mort becomes even more paranoid. John Shooter tells Mort that he's not going anywhere until "the law is settled." This makes me think was he talking about plagiarizing his story or was he talking about something else? When the most obvious clues of Shooter's cigarettes and black velvet cowboy hat appeared in the cabin, my perception of him began to change. My feelings towards this lonely character changed the moment Johnny Depp put on this black velvet cowboy hat. Mort said to himself: “you know what you have to do, fix the story, the end”. Secret Window was a great title for this film because Morton Rainey had a secret window that opened to his alter ego John Shooter. “The only thing that matters is the end.” -Johnny Depp
