The reason is that college is too expensive. If the United States of America wants to be at the top of education statistics, why not make college affordable? There are a lot of people in today's world who are pretty smart, but don't have the money to go to college, so what happens to these people? Most work minimum wage for the rest of their lives, others save money until they are 30 and can afford to go to college. If jobs need people to fill certain positions, they should look to people who have graduated from high school and not just those with some college experience or a college degree. Businesses need to take into consideration that not everyone can afford college, but they can be just as experienced as someone with a college degree.
