  • Essay / Learning Learning Styles - 1468

A learning style is a way in which a learner begins to focus, process, and retain new and difficult information (Dunn and Dunn, 1987). A teacher cannot expect a student to listen to a story and answer a series of questions, then expect the student to get a perfect score when the student learns best by reading. Learning styles are simply inferred from the way information is processed. Understanding their individual learning style helps them by setting them up for success instead of setting them up for failure. Every human being learns in a different and unusual way. No two people in the world learn the same way. Some people learn by working with their hands, others by what they see and can process, and still others learn by what they can hear. There is no right or wrong way to learn because all living things are unique and special. By knowing what learning style will help them succeed in school, work, and daily life, a person will become more self-reliant and a happier person. Discovering a person's learning style can be as easy or difficult as he or she makes it. A person can go through a training center to take a learning assessment or find the assessment online for free or for a price. If a person wants a more in-depth explanation of why they have a certain learning style or a more in-depth explanation of learning style, that person is better off either going to a learning center or paying for an online test. There are some learning style assessments that suggest which jobs would be best for you based solely on your learning style. The price range of these tests can be from five dollars to twenty dollars depending on middle of paper......how you learn, how you communicate with other people and how you can improve certain aspects of your life.
