Essay / Our daily impact on the water cycle and ways to manage it
Each of us human beings has a big impact on the water cycle, including myself. Every day I use resources and make a major impact in this cycle. We often use resources without thinking much about them. We just consider it normal that enough of these resources are available to people. Water is always available to us. Every other day, when I shower, bathe, cook or simply go swimming in the sea, I have a significant influence on our water cycle. The water I use comes from our community water system. It costs a lot of work to bring water to my house. Waste, dirty water from my home returns to this cycle after a recycling process. In factories and industries around us like manufacturing, processing or any other, water is an essential necessity. Not only is it used in the process but also in other forms. Pollution from this production has also impacted the water cycle. Additionally, pollution, for example from industries and traffic, makes rain acidic. Acid rain falls and in turn kills much of the flora and fauna. Additionally, groundwater could become polluted with chemicals and other toxins if I am not careful about how I dispose of contaminated water and chemicals. So every time I use a product created from plastic or made with water, I'm also having a major impact on our water cycle. If I do not take care of our environment and, for example, do not recycle waste, I will definitely have a negative impact on the environment. I use a lot of electricity at home every day. Electricity largely requires fossil fuels for production in power plants. There is also an impact on the water cycle – power plants that use coal for example. There is an impact on the cycle because the coal is extracted in an artisanal manner. My life will definitely change significantly if I try to reduce my impacts on the environment because I will have to give up my comforts. This could include not using most items that have a huge impact on water resources in the production process. Doing this can be a big challenge for me. It is not so easy to find a sensible way to preserve the environment alongside my personal lifestyle. To conserve water my lifestyle needs to change, this would involve using water sparingly and not taking long bathing sessions in the name of water conservation. In addition, my personal budget is an essential factor in environmentally friendly thinking. But if we all don't take care of our environment, we will definitely get negative results, like global warming (which is here with us), toxic water, etc. We must therefore find a happy medium to resolve this problem. In conclusion, yes, it is possible to change my current lifestyle to reduce the impact on our water cycle. I can take a shower instead of a bath to reduce the amount of water I use for personal hygiene. I can try to reduce the amounts used when washing utensils, I could do this by using the water collected in a sink instead of having a running faucet. I can
