The importance of a good rest? Sleep disorders are often overlooked, especially in today's society. Adequate sleep or rest is necessary to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The effects of abnormal sleep habits can be detrimental not only to the individual but also to those around them. Sleep deprivation is often misdiagnosed as attention deficit disorder or depression due to similar symptoms. In extreme cases of sleep deficit, individuals are known to exhibit symptoms of psychosis or mania, most commonly associated with manic-depressive disorder and schizophrenia. Treatment of these conditions may require extensive therapy and medications. These medications can have harmful effects, especially when trying to treat the wrong cause for similar symptoms. To avoid misdiagnosis of sleep deprivation, doctors should first make suggestions for improving lifestyle habits and thoroughly test patients before making a final diagnosis. The development of technology has dramatically changed the lives of many people, an impact so subtle that it often goes unnoticed, even by the subject involved. A side effect, lack of sleep. As the technological era has developed, people's attention spans have shortened. Due to the many devices that individuals use regularly, focus on tasks has decreased due to the large number of tasks to complete and the demand for multitasking. With so much to do and little time to accomplish them, people rarely have time to rest.
