Essay / Pros and Cons of Sustainable Development - 794
It means working to restore our ecosystems to their previous state so that they can be used again. Another aspect encompassed in sustainable development is meeting the needs for food, energy, water, as well as basic sanitation, if these needs are met it eliminates the pressure on natural environments (Harris 2006). In addition to this, the merging of environment and economics in decision-making is another way to ensure that, even through the development of our societies, a sustainable way of living is always maintained (Elliot 2006) . For sustainable development to be implemented effectively, Harris (2006) suggests that there must be an economic system that provides solutions to problems arising from conflicting development. This is due to the different views people have on the economy and how it should be.
