Essay / Paris Peace Conference - 739
It has been almost a century since the first Paris Peace Conference was held, but until now it remains a popular but also controversial event in world history . The Paris Peace Conference took place in 1919 and was attended by more than 1,000 representatives from more than 30 countries. The results of the Conference were five treaties concerning terms which the Conference believed should prevent future conflict between nations. Even though World War II did not begin until after 15 years, the treaties still functioned as a buffer between countries. Although many resolutions were discussed, the Conference negotiations revolved around four main topics: reparation for previous war losses or limitations placed on the major central power, Germany, self-recognition, the Fourteen President Woodrow Wilson's points and land annexation. a resolution on war reparations was proposed by Australia and the United Kingdom and eventually became Article 231 of the Treaty of Versailles. The article placed full responsibility for the war on Germany, demanded that Germany accept full responsibility for the war, and must pay a set of reparations set by the great powers. The reparations imposed were seen as retaliation for the reparations imposed on France by Germany in the Treaty of Frankfurt after the Franco-Prussian War. The form of reward for war varies in different forms, from coal, steel and gold to intellectual property. According to the treaty, Germany will finish paying the reparations in 2020. The reparations are undoubtedly just another indirect means of limiting Germany's growth in all possible areas and have added a new pair of chains to with the German economy already weakened, some historians believe...... middle of article ......ris Peace Conference, nations that proposed land annexation as a resolution even reached the number of six, causing strong power struggles and tensions between nations, which defeated the original goal of the Paris Peace Conference. The Asian issue was also raised at the Paris Peace Conference, whether or not China should regain its sovereign authority from Japan. The Chinese are outraged by this problem through a cultural movement, the May Fourth Movement, which encouraged China not to sign the treaty. The Paris Peace Conference ended on January 16, 1919 with the signing of five treaties and the birth of eight new independent nations. Although the Paris Peace Conference ended more than 80 years ago, no one can deny its impact on the world after decades. The history of humanity would definitely have been changed forever if any of the outcomes of the Conference were different..
