Even though Western media has indeed influenced many cultures, there is no doubt that some cultures are determined to maintain their identity. In other words, some Western societies such as Chinese and Arab cultures have relatively retained their cultural identity in the wake of growing Western influence. Notably, they have retained their cultural identity despite changing forces affecting many parts of the world. In essence, the concept of media imperialism does not necessarily erode culture.
