"Animal Farm" is one of George Orwell's best-known works, along with 1984. The reason I chose this novel is because it is frequently mentioned in popular culture and I think reading this novel will greatly contribute to my cultural knowledge. I chose this book after reading Orwell's novel "1984". “Animal Farm” was written by George Orwell and published in 1945. The translator of the book, published by the National Education Printing Office in Istanbul in 1954, is Halide Edip Adıvar. “Animal Farm” is a darkly humorous fable that critiques the political events of the time in which it was written. British writer George Orwell, real name Eric Arthur Blair, was born on June 25, 1903. He graduated from Eton College, a prestigious school, then served for a time in the police in Burma, then a British colony . The brutal practices he witnessed during his tenure led him to resent imperialism. The event that changed Owell's life and inspired him to write "Animal Farm" was his enlistment in the volunteer troops to fight against Fraco, who attempted a coup in Spain with the support of Mussolini and Hitler. Although he joined the volunteer units, he doubted he would participate in combat due to his lack of military experience and weak body, but his visit to Spain gave him the reflection and inspiration to write The Farm Animals, a novel that would bring him great fame. in the future. George Orwell What he saw in Spain He is very impressed by you. A new order has arrived in Spain: prostitution has disappeared, words indicating social class are no longer used, tipping is prohibited and many products on the market are free for those who need them (Orwell, 47). Overall, although the ancient language gives the book a bit of an old feel; Combined with the smooth, realistic and natural nature of the book, this revealed the classic look of the book. “Animal Farm” is a novel that did not disappoint me, even if it was written in a genre that I rarely read. Knowing the time period and the important characters in that time period before reading the novel was the key that unlocked the novel for me. Even though it was predictable that there would be no difference between animals and humans in the end, it surprised me because I expected the animals to rise up again and establish a new democracy in the novel. Reading the book greatly contributed to my cultural knowledge. Knowing this book, considered a classic around the world and mentioned in everything from TV series to music, gave me a different perspective..
