Wilderness is a place that is full of wild animals in unexplored territory. An unpredictable place full of dangers. A place that requires you to use your skills, studies, and know-how to combat the dangers of the wilderness and survive. A place that forces you to rely on yourself to survive rather than others. A place without laws and where everything is a game of fairies. A place where you can connect with nature. A place where you can become one with nature. A place that changes you instead of you changing location. The wilderness may look horrible, but it is undeniably beautiful. After this experience, wilderness to me means more than just a place that is not corrupted by the hand of man, because humans are part of wilderness. If I could sit on a rock in contact with the wilderness without disturbing stability, others could too. I can now understand that we humans are wild and have retreated from the wilderness. I can now see some similarities between wildlife and humans. We humans are territorial, fight for mates, and thrive on the idea of survival. In the end, all I can see is that we were wild and we domesticated ourselves to the point where we could connect to nature. Although that doesn't mean we can't enjoy nature when we're homesick, because nature is our
