    As businesses move toward a smoke-free workplace, the environment as a whole is doomed to be smoke-free. Twenty years ago, restaurants allowed their customers to smoke, whereas now that the anti-smoking policy has increased, there are almost no restaurants or bars allowing smoking in the building. The majority of restaurant customers are non-smokers; Customer income would therefore increase since non-smokers would not have to worry about second-hand smoke. Based on the 2008 Zagat Survey of America's Best Restaurants, "The 2008 Zagat Survey" of America's Best Restaurants of 132,000 Americans noted that "the verdict on smoking is overwhelming with seventy-seven percent of diners saying they would eat out less if smoking were allowed in local restaurants, and only two percent say they would dine out more. (Par. 5). By banning smoking in restaurants, more non-smokers can enter, allowing businesses to make more profit and not be affected by smoking restrictions. According to EJ Hahn's article, Smoke-free Legislation: A review of Health and Economic Outcome of Research, "A 2010 analysis of the economic outcomes of smoke-free laws indicates "there is clear evidence that smoke-free legislation does not bad. restaurants or bars, and in some cases, businesses can improve. (Par. 5). The economy has started to cater to a wider population of non-smokers in order to increase their income, but thanks to smoke-free businesses, they are allowing more of the population to feel comfortable to walk into their business and sit down. Tobacco is in the best interest of the user's life and family, but some families depend on tobacco production.
