The concept of freedom can mean different things to different people, it all depends on the level of freedom you have in your own life. This could be freedom of speech, religious freedom, freedom of the press or even economic freedom. Whichever way you look at it, they all seem to describe a feeling of personal freedom, which everyone undoubtedly wants, but only some seem to have. No other democratic society in the world grants as many individual freedoms as the United States of America. They were able to establish a set of legal rules that systematically protect all forms of freedom. Liberty remains the only foundation of American society as we know it. Without liberty, the great American nation would never have been created. Just like the fact that the United States is seen by the American population as a symbol of freedom and independence, it also means the same thing to many other countries around the world. Having your own freedom and the ability to exercise your rights in your own country is something that is synonymous with the United States. America, land of the free, is a term constantly used to describe the United States and rightfully so. The foundations of America's freedom can be traced back to the Founding Fathers as well as two very important documents, the Declaration of Independence and of course the Constitution. The American founding fathers believed that the concept of great American freedom was of great importance when deciding how the United States would be and function.
