Types of Depression, there are so many, everyone is different, so everyone has their different type of depression. Here are some common types that are more well-known or, in your case, ones you've probably never heard of. Major depression or also known as chronic depression. Major depression causes loss of interest, loss of energy, and this mood may last for a day or more. Systems of this type can be feeling guilty, worthless, hypersonic (prolonged sleep), restless, slowed down, recurring thoughts of death or suicide, and sometimes weight gain or loss. Approximately 6.7% of the American population over the age of 18 is affected by major depression. And can also affect adolescents, children and the elderly (elderly). Women are twice as likely to experience major or clinical depression; hormonal changes. Some of these changes may include puberty, menstruation, pregnancy, miscarriage and also menopause. And women may also be at risk for major or clinical depression due to increased stress from life events including: work, family life, career, caring for others, raising a child and tragic events. Another common type of depression is atypical depression. Atypical depression is very similar to major depression and chronic depression, some systems are increased appetite causing weight gain, excessive sleeping or loss of sleep, marked weakness or fatigue, environmental circumstances can cause a strong and extremely sensitive reaction of the humors. A portion of the population of young children or adolescents suffering from depression suffers primarily from atypical depression.
