Currently, drastic measures are being taken in various countries around the world in an attempt to protect that country's indigenous knowledge in the battle. International companies or even private entrepreneurs attempt to acquire a share of the natural resources found in foreign countries and market them either for financial gain or other reasons. With the global process of human globalization and the merger of small businesses into large ones. Research dedicated to finding new medicines and new ways to improve daily life is highly sought after. All this comes down to protecting the knowledge of the elders, transmitted from generation to generation and often kept “secret” from Western society and its companies. There are many different views on legality and ethics that come to light in some of these cases and how certain companies act. When a company engages in bioprospecting, all or part of the profits must be shared with the country of origin. By taking a natural resource and marketing it internationally without any compensation, or even acknowledging its origin, many companies would be committing plagiarism in academic terms. However, as this goes far beyond any college campus, it is simply theft and completely unacceptable in today's society.
